SARAH CARLICK NOMINATED FOR PRESTIGIOUS...
The Athena Programme’s founder and director, Sarah Carlick, has been nominated for Businesswoman
A pro-active, self-motivated and results orientated person, with a natural ability to influence others through thought provoking and creative training techniques. Honest, reliable and dedicated to safeguarding children and young people through inspiring practitioners to reflect and develop practice.
As an Athena Associate she offers dedication as her entire career has been devoted to training and sharing good practice across the Children’s and Young people’s workforce. She has an excellent reputation for writing and delivering high quality child protection and safeguarding training. She has extensive experience of writing safeguarding training, publications, website content, good practice guidance and reports. Working nationally with all types of practitioners and professionals has developed an in-depth understanding of common safeguarding issues affecting children’s and young people’s services and provided a practical insight into the solutions that have been successful. Through working with a number of local authorities, PCT’s and childcare organisations has developed a thorough working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding legislation, policies, and practice and relevant systems for vulnerable children.
Having an interest in drama and experiential learning she is able to engage and inspire learners and they tell us that she is knowledgeable, motivating and that her sessions are highly interactive.
With an impressive academic record, her personal commitment to continuing professional development is indubitable and she has recently returned to the University of Huddersfield as a research student to study for a Doctorate of Education on a part time basis. Her four year research study will focus on an area that she is truly passionate about and bring new knowledge about how best to support our most disadvantaged 2 year olds through providing high quality childcare.
Being active in mind Donna also enjoys being active in her leisure pursuits which include swimming, pilates and despite a lack of co-ordination, ice skating with her two children is by far her favourite way to spend a Sunday morning.
