“Nothing
is more relevant to us than ourselves”
We passionately believe in
ourselves and embrace innovation in all that we do. Our aim
is to push the boundaries of what is considered possible as
individuals and as a business.
Highly motivated by all things creative, we focus on going
with the moment, flowing with the group process, visual and
sensory learning and experiential and action learning
methods. These learning methods are at the heart of our work
- they ignite the passion in the people we work with, give
strength to personal and professional growth and act as a
springboard for creativity and change.
We believe that genuine learning is a process which starts
from within the learner themselves. This is the starting
point for an individual to grow and develop and learn in his
or her own direction and in their own way. Experiential and
creative learning provides a forum for self knowledge and is
a way of using a person’s everyday experiences as data for
learning about human relations. This model of learning has
power and impact because it offers relevance to the
individual, and confronts basic emotional issues with which
people have to deal with every day.
The issues of fear of change, new working practices,
adapting style and practice, team dynamics and acquiring
work related knowledge and expertise are central to most
people’s daily interactions, and learners using this model
gain an increased awareness of these issues through
organised and focussed experiences.
Experience has shown us that we learn skills most
effectively through practice toward an ideal model,
knowledge of results, and positive reinforcement. Our
training is designed to encourage the people whom we train
to participate and become actively involved in learning, and
to take responsibility for their own learning.
We believe that experiential learning methods facilitate a
sense of ownership over the learning that occurs in these
circumstances.
In conventional training models the focus is often primarily
on the trainer while the learner’s responsibility is to take
notes, listen, think, and memorise, then apply the content
of the course in practice. Instead of concentrating on
content and expecting learners to accept examples in faith,
we use experiential learning methods to focus directly on
the learner so that they can experience the issues as well
as identifying with them intellectually.
Experiential Learning techniques allow both cognitive
(knowledge) and affective (emotional) behaviour involvement.
They enable learners to see, hear, feel and examine their
own uniqueness in action and this provides them with a more
complete learning event. By participating in situations that
generate a broad spectrum of emotions, learners are given
the opportunity to examine their feelings and behaviour when
they interact with other individuals. They are taken through
a process which facilitates an awareness of personal
responsibility for actions and behaviour, and allows
learners to begin to identify their own personal styles in
relationships.
Our training methods are designed to facilitate group
processes which allow learners to experience relevant
activities designed to enable them to examine common shared
experiences with other team members and contribute towards
reflective practice issues. |
