Safeguarding Children Level 3 – Child Protection Case Conferencing

Here you will receive a comprehensive understanding of the nature and impact of roles and responsibilities within the child protection system for ensuring effective multi-agency work.

The course will explore child protection conferences, preparing child protection plans and the role of core groups to ensure the best outcomes for children at risk of harm.  You will have the opportunity to take part in a simulated Case Conference based on a detailed case study.

This is an advanced course designed for those who have some previous child protection training.

This course will help you become familiar with the role and responsibilities of the Designated Person / Safeguarding Lead for safeguarding

Who is it aimed at?

Those who are the named Designated Person / Safeguarding Leads working in education, health, local authority, charities, private sector, voluntary organisations and who have responsibility for safeguarding children (and/ or vulnerable adults) within their organisation.

Role of a Designated Person or Safeguarding Lead

  • To promote positive safeguarding policies procedures and practices.
  • To refer cases of suspected abuse or allegations to the relevant investigating agencies.
  • To act as a source of support, advice and expertise within the organisation and liaising with relevant agencies.
  • To prepare reports including timetables of staff training, policy reviews, referrals and on-going investigations.
